The Forbidden Fruit

Went to Pavilion this afternoon to help Jess to get a taste of the forbidden fruit - the Apple!!!

Jess was using the Nokia phone before she decided to go for the forbidden apple. All the time while she was complaining about her old phone, i have been taking up the devil role in pushing and cajoling her to change into an Iphone. The Devil always wins! hahaha...

Bye bye  Nokia.....

She was rather excited the whole day and when i reached Pavilion, she quickly pulled me to the Maxis center which was situated 2 floors below where she was working. Before she decided on buying the Iphone from Maxis, she was comparing prices and the quality of the line between Maxis and Digi. Although Maxis packages are more expensive compared to Digi's, i have however advised her to go with Maxis because my mum is currently a Digi user and the line sucks! It is either you have to call twice before being able to get a ring tone, or the line is so bad that as though she called from a remotely far far away forest at the Amazon. Oh maybe too exaggerating! Anyway the bottom line is Digi's line sucks!

So we were at Maxis center and Jess got her details filled up on a form before she get a number from the machine. Turned out she was lucky because she will be the next in line to be served. We waited...and waited...and waited. It was already almost 30 minutes passed before her number was called! Apparently they needed time to configure the phone before calling for her number.

Finally getting her Iphone! A cool white color 32g!

Just when we thought everything was done, she was then directed to the counter at the side of the counter to "configure" her Iphone. I was rather surprised. I thought they just took 30 minutes to "configure" the phone? Anyway, she went to the customer service person in charge, got the box opened, plastic wrapping torn up and let him "configure" the phone. It was only at this moment that i was getting really bored, i decided to snap photos of the whole "session" with my phone and blog.

He laughed at me when i took over the box and said i wanna snap photos for blogging.

Jess listening carefully on the "must charge 8 hours the 1st time" instruction and asking questions regarding this instruction.

Finally all done. Look! My new white Iphone! I am tech-savvy now!

And now she is the proud owner of the forbidden apple. She was so excited over the phone that she came over to my place after work and started syncing applications from my Mac. Well have fun with it dear. Now that you are officially in the Mac world, good luck in trying to pull out in the future! hahaha

Tarot Readings - The Revelations!

Jess and I went for a tarot reading at the Mines Shopping Center recently. The shop occupied a small but cute space at the corner of the second floor with a facet that will literately illustrate what the shop is all about.

The pricing is rather reasonable as well. For tarot readings, it takes the participant about 20 minutes minimum for a session and if you have any additional questions that you wish to ask, it might even take up to a maximum of 30 minutes. From what i see off the pricing chart, the guru even do feng sui reading that reads your bazi and even palm. There was one young couple ahead of us when we reached there and they even took up 20 minutes of our time but we could see that the guru will explain patiently to their questions.

Jess was the first one to do the tarot reading. So the guru, or Fred, started his session by asking some simple questions such as the date of birth, which he then keyed the details into his pc. Then he asked questions such as if we were working and in which field. After which he aligned the cards in front of Jess and she was then requested to choose 4 cards.

When tarot readings also gets techno-savvy..

Fred with the cards first before lining them into a straight line in front of Jess.

Jess thinking which cards to choose..

After Jess has chosen her 4 cards, Fred will then choose another 4 cards for her. Each line would represent a particular aspect of her life for the next one year from now. From left would be money, follow by health, love life and finally career. So being the busy body me, of course i sat besides her and kept asking questions on her behalf.

Jess's cards..
Career - Great
Love - Fantastic
Health - Pink
Money - As good as it gets

Jess listening enthusiastically about her reading...

Well it seems like Jess is getting an interesting year ahead and i am happy for her. After all it is time for her to go explore the outside world and fulfilled her dreams. Of course with all the questions i asked for her, it seems that she is really having quite an interesting year ahead. Whao!

And then it was my turn and suddenly i feel a rush of anxious in me and i was having butterflies in my stomach. Perhaps it was because this was my first time, perhaps it was because i was afraid that my future might be in jeopardy or simply because Jess was there to witness everything with me. Anyway the process was the same and Jess helped me to take some pictures as well. For me, Fred actually asked about d.o.b of KC so that he could advice me better.

A very nervous me trying to look cool for the camera..

And now it is my turn to think which cards to choose...

As i was looking at all the cards lying before my eyes, my hand was doing the choosing while my mind was running wild. Which one to choose? How will that affect me? Should i take the left one or the middle or maybe the far right??? Can i re-choose what i have chosen???

Tada! My cards!
Career - Better take up studies for now
Love - Ok
Health -  Cloudy
Money - Chipsmore!

The moment Fred saw my cards for the love aspect, he simply said "You and your partner is going through a very boring life. Maybe is because you guys spent too much time together. You guys need a common interest." And then straight away i was saying "Whao this is so accurate!" in my head because i will be seeing only him once i go over to Algeria. And as for career, he said this year is not the best year for me because the bottom card showed a moon. Moon means ever changing and it is not bright. So accurate again because i have no job to go to! And health wise, he just told me to take care and to expect a mini me in 2 years time! hahah well not too sure about this for now. And finally money, the bottom card simply showed that it will be up to me entirely to create how much fortune i want and currently the situation is like Chipsmore - Now you see it, now you dont! And then i decided to ask about my mum's health and Fred had me chose another card again. It was only this moment that we realised we could ask questions about someone else. Of course in order to get a more accurate reading, i have to give him my time of birth as well. Thank God mum will be in pink of health for the year to come.

The whole session for both of us ended after approximately 40 minutes. We were both quite happy with the readings and find it rather fun. Who knows, we might book for the next session next year the same time!

Inspectors Gadget Wannabe

Marcia and I did a really stupid but fun thing this evening.

We finished our singing session at 1 Utama and was on our way to the car park when we passed by the cinema. And then it struck me suddenly that one of my friend is having an "outing" with a guy at the same place. They were planning to watch a movie at 7pm and it was about 630pm when we realized that.

So we did the stupidest thing ever we could imaged. We decided to be Inspectors Gadget wannable and to spy on her. We had the perfect plan. We will stand behind the pillar but with a perfect view of seeing everyone who is coming up from the escalator and it is the only path they could take in order to get into the cinema. We will spot our friend, secretly snap picture of them and then show the picture to her the next day since we planned a dinner together. The plan was PERFECT!

So we waited. 15 minutes passed but no sign of her. All the time we kept entertaining ourselves by trying to identify who will be the guy she was meeting. We scout through all single guys around the cinema. There were a guy in yellow T-shirt, a blue colored T tall guy and also another guy in yellow shirt. Then after watching them for a while. the guy in yellow T went off... and hence one suspect down.

But it was near 7pm already and we still could not spot our friend. So Marcia gave her a call pretending to ask her something. It turned out that my friend was still on her way and she was driving. So we waited patiently again and all the time watching the 2 suspects we identified.

Then suddenly the guy in the blue T greeted his guy friend and they went into the cinema. Oh no! Only one suspect now and the time was already 20 minutes passed 7pm. What had happened really? So i called my friend.

"Hello, where you ar?"

"I am watching movie." she replied softly.

"Oh i need to check on movies. Which cinema you at?"

"I am in GSC." (hm... we are at the right spot, i thought to myself).

"Are you inside the cinema now?"

"Yes, i am inside, watching movie already. Why?"

"Oh nothing. I speak to you later then."

I turned to Marcia and yelled. "How did she get passed us??? What happened????"

After telling her what happened, we cant stop laughing at how stupid we were and still could not figure out how 2 pairs of eyes could not spot her! At that point of time, we decided that it's time to call it a night.

How did she get passed us?????  Anyway Inspectors Gadgets wannabe - FAILED!

Sweet Tooth

Now that i know i will be going back to Algeria where i will have to prepare and cook my own food, i can't help but start going around stuffing myself with delicious food. By the way, the pastas at Pasta Zamai are really delicious too. Pasta Zamai is situated on G floor in old wing 1 Utama, near Jusco with a shop facet full of Japanese groceries in front.

One of the thing i cant resist lately is eating really nice, soft cakes. I would choose to eat less during dinner so that i could have space for desert or take away the cakes so that i could eat them after that. I have even gone to the extend of packing few pieces of cakes so that i could have them as lunch or supper later.

Some of the best cakes i could find are from the restaurant named "Garden", situated just next to the elevator down from LG to basement carpark in One Utama new wing, just next to Hang Ten.

The ambience of the restaurant is cosy and relaxing. Even the spaghettis are really yummy. Since giving it a try about 3 weeks ago and find it very good, i have been visiting the restaurant very frequently. Sometimes just to eat its delicious cakes. There were about 7 different types of cakes. If i remember correctly, there are strawberry cake, banana cheese, tiramisu, chocolate, which all i have tried.

So the day after Jess and I went for our tarot readings, we met up with Marcia and went for deserts in the restaurant again. We ordered the opal (bottom), green tea tiramisu (middle) and blueberry cake (top). They tasted awesome! Very soft and yummy! And now i could proudly claim that i have tasted all the cakes in the restaurant!

And of course we also asked the waiter to help us take some beautiful pictures. The waiter told me that he had just bought a camera and was asking me about details of my canon. According to him, the picture quality is really good. In response, since i do not really remember the details, i would just show him a silly laugh and nod my head, followed by telling him "i really dont remember". After awhile he retreated himself.

Oh ya one thing though, my personal experience is not to order the lavender tea because all the time when i was sipping my tea, it felt as though i was sipping aroma oil! And the outcome of sipping lavender tea actually lead us to a night massage at Bangsar at 10pm! The massage was good there and then but the next day my back was covered with spots of blue-black!  Sigh....

Cofi's New Tag

I am so afraid that i might loose my precious Cofi in the upcoming voyage we are taking to Algeria that i decided to buy her a new tag.

Her old one was a find that we got from one of the shop in Perth a couple of years ago. It used to be a beautiful pink tag that read "Almost Human". I even bought her a pink collar just to match the tag with it.

However after sometime, the tag got deformed. I am still wondering how it got deformed because the tag was not put near a fire or any heater but then it looked as though it was dumped in one. Since it was rather difficult to find another cute one to replace, Cofi has to wear it all the time.

So a few days ago i went to One Utama and walked into one of the souvenir shop and requested a tag with customized engraving.  This is how the new tag is of a bone shape and at the front it reads "Cofi, Almost Human" and at the back it reads "Please call +6017 xxxxxxx for rewards." The main objective is to have someone to call me in case Cofi gets lost during the journey.

And then my brother had a look at the tag the next day. Turned to me and said "Let me call you now and i demand for my reward!"

Haha very funny, not!

Finally!

After a long time planning to meet up with Lynn, finally tonight we met up and had a wonderful dinner together.

Lynn was looking vibrant and younger! And i would say she looked rather toned as well. Must be from all her tracking and marathon sessions over the years.

In one of my previous entries, i mentioned that i found out that the bracelet which i bought for her in my India trip few years ago was still with me and i was surprised when i saw it. I thought i have given to her long time ago. So today, i made sure that i put the bracelet into my bag early in the morning before the dinner at night. And finally, i managed to give her the bracelet. So sorry for keeping it so long with me. The bracelet is made up of beautiful green color stoned with a touch of Indian flavor. I thought it looks very nice on her. It was also very sweet of her to give me a very beautiful photo frame as my wedding gift.

So we went to Little Penang to have our dinner and that was where we went to the last time we met too. Throughout the dinner, we had a great chat over many things. She told me about her tracking and camping experiences, her current job, her passion in starting an Internet based business and also tales of her holidays in various countries. I told her about my life, what i had been through, my previous jobs, my Internet business and shopings in bandung and all the goodies we found in Bandung. Finally we were being shooed off by the waiter because the restaurant was closing by then. When we looked at the watch, it was already 15 mins passed 10pm.

What a fun night. Although we have chatted for more than 3 hours but then it still feels like there are still so much that we have not shared. No worries, in about 8 months or more, i will be back and we shall meet up again and share more tales of our lives.

Parents' Heart

The Internet in my house has been down for the past few days and my days passed in slow motion. Suddenly i have so much free time in hand that i do not know how to use. So I have busied myself with dinners with friends and sitting in front of the telly being a couch potato.

Interestingly, i saw this program on Astro Wah Lai Toi named Parents' Heart. The program is a short 30 minutes session that features stories of parents in Malaysia. What touched me was a story told by a dad who got married very early just went he turned 20 years old. In order to sustain the life of his newly married wife and the birth of his daughter, he had to go to Taiwan to work for about 2 years before he came back to KL and took up 2 jobs simultaneously in order to survive. At the age of 40, he is now a proud grandfather. Below was a story that he told the interviewer on how he had failed his son one day.

It was a clear night and the house was having a BBQ session with all the cousins. It was 9pm at night when the father told his son to go take a shower. The son gave a brief nod but continued his fun with his  cousins in the BBQ party.

The second time when the father told the son to take a shower, it was already 10pm, an hour passed. The son nodded again but did not act on it. Anger was building in the father's heart.

The clock turned 11pm and just went the father wanted to remind the son again, the son quickly ran into the bathroom and shut the door. Finally taking his shower, thought the father. After a few minutes, the father realized there wasn't any water splashing sound from the bathroom and then he saw his son opened the bathroom door and was running towards the BBQ area.

This time around the father was so mad that without giving any warning, he moved up to his son and gave his a tight slap in the face. The son fell to the ground, looked at the father in disbelieved, moved to his feet and then sat silently on the sofa without a word. His face was red with a mark of the slap but he did not shed a tear.

And then the mother moved into the picture. She pulled the father aside and said to him.

"Do you know why he ran out from the bathroom so quickly? He was having diarrhea the whole night. It was in the bathroom that he suddenly remembered he was bbq-ing some chicken wings for you. And the wings were getting burned! That was why he came out and ran towards the BBQ area! What have you done? Why cant you asked before you acted in anger?"

By now the father was stunned and nothing but silent came from his mouth. He told the interviewer that it was because of this incident that had made him realized how judgmental he was and how he had failed his son.

The scene then cut to the interview with the son on this issue. The son said that when the father slapped him, he had a brief moment of dizziness. He was angry with his father until in the middle of the night, he father silently came into his room and carefully applied cream on his face. The son was not asleep then but he was so angry that he pretended to be asleep. What had made his heart melted and forgive his father was when his father was applying the medicine for him, he heard his father weeping silently as well.

It was this incident that has lead the father to treat the son like a friend after that. At the end of the interview, the son said this with a huge smile on his face " i think i am very fortunate and lucky to be in my family. I am blessed."

Nightmare

I hate nightmares! Especially when the dreams were about realities in life.

I wouldnt mind having nightmares on vampires. ghosts, or even being chased and slashed to death in my dreams. Yes it might be scary when i was in the dream but at the end of the day i could still tell myself that it is just a dream and all i have to do it wake up and things will be fine again.

The only nightmare i am fearful of is like i said, things that could relate to the real world. Things that perhaps could happen to me in reality. I had one of those nightmare yesterday.

After watching the "Lost Book Of Nastradamus" on History channel yesterday, i decided to call it a night and go to sleep. I was so tired that i didn't know how i fell asleep...and i was awake by a nightmare!

My heart was beating so fast and i was sweating profoundly and there was tears at the corner of my eyes. What did i dream about? Well i dreamt that i took on the flight from KLIA to Algeria. Everything was going so well until i reached Algers. To my horror, Cofi had been misplaced and lost! I search everywhere i could for her but unavail and i could not do anything but cried...

My heart ached in my dream because i lost her and i cried too. When i woke up, boy i was glad that it was a dream but still my heart ached and i had tears at the corner of my eyes. Then i looked at Cofi, who was sleeping soundly next to me on my pillow. To make sure that she was really there with me, i pushed her butt which woke her. She gave me a very dismayed look, a heavy sigh, and turned her back from me, walked to the furthest corner of the bed and away from me, scratched the bed until she felt comfortable and slept!

Argggg!!!! Got bullied by a dog!

The Unconventional Way to Make Friends

I remember walking into this facial salon in Tropicanal City Mall near my house thinking to myself that this will just be another facial salon which i have visited.

The salon has a two shop lots space and looks clean and neat. Almost everything is white. And just like most salons, the prices are scarily expensive. Since it looks rather promising compared to those shabby ones around, i gave it a try.

My first facial session in the salon was from a fair looking girl with an aura of the girl-next-door. She speaks softly and calmly which translate into soothing tone. I was instantly drew into liking her. There were just so much grace about her.

Soon after, i even found out she is the daughter of the salon owner and she has a professional degree as well. It will takes me tones of courage to leave my professional field and to help out a family business, in this case, a facial salon if i were her. The reason for me to say so is because giving facial services is such a people oriented business and it takes lots of patience and the talent of serving to work in this field. As i know i am a clumsy person, i knew i will never be able to excel in it. I could not even glue anything nicely without making a mess or making a mark on it. Hence for this i really put my hats off for her. And she must be a very smart person because if i didn't know about her background, i would have thought she has years of experiences in this field because she was rather good.

So we began talking. At the surface initially. Then we began to talk more. And before i knew it, i begin to look forward to my facial session because i was actually befriending my facial guru. And i am amazed by her openness and her sense of down-to-earth personality. We exchanged so much talking and opinions that some i might not even told my other friends about.

I have never befriended my previous facial gurus. All the time i preferred to just shut my eyes and sleep. Even when some of them initiated talks, i would just gave short answered because i was lazy. Boy am i glad that i wasn't as lazy as i was this time. For me this is a rather unconventional way to make a friend. Maybe it is just the click we have.

I would highly recommend any girls who want to have a nice and clean facial session and the chances of being friend with a bunch of nice girls. Well it turns out that most of the staff working there are pretty nice to talk to as well.

Let me use the famous advertising line by Mastercard here.

"Facial RM150.... Facial products RM500.... A chance to make a great friend.....PRICELESS!"

Bombarded

Whao! Just got bombarded by a phone call from Japan.

All because i didnt handle a situation well few weeks ago and now is coming back to haunt me.

Of course i know why he was that upset and mad over what had happened. If only he knew that i was in a rather tough situation too and under the stress that was imposed on me, i had no choice but to do what i did.

Well i would have chosen a different approach if things were within my control but unfortunately it wasnt.

Anyways take this as a good lesson to learn from and hopefully i will never be put into such situation again in the future.

13 more days to go and i will be free.... yeppie!

Tarot Readings

Ever tried a session of tarot reading? I have not and am about to get one soon.

Now it is not like i really believe in them. Of course when i was younger i often were very curious at what life will bring me. And i have been to quite a few of chinese astrology, bazi and even palm reading. Each time i was told on so many things that i do not even remember now. The last i had was with my Aunt who studied palm and bazi reading with the famou Joey Yap. She took the cources online and eqquipped with books written by Joey Yap, she gratuaded and now have her own followers and also increading database of customers.

My session with her was a short one. She told me that in my bazi, i am borned with 3 of the 4 lucky starts and i should just accept what life brings me. It seems that with my 3 lucky stars, whatever problems i had or will be facing, will settled itself eventually either by the turn of events or getting help from my guai yan, which translates into English is helpers. Now this is something i would remember for the rest of my life. Why? Simple because it is just music to the ears. Who in the world would not believe in sweet talk?

Ok back to tarots. Not sure if this even works and i guess it is difficult to prove. Just like love, when 2 persons are madly in love, any conincidences will automatically be turned into fate in their eyes.

"Oh you like red?" "Me too!"

"Oh you once went to XXX mall in XXX year?" "Whao we are so fated because i was there too! And we might have met then but didnt knew each other! We are so fated!"

So that brings us back to tarot reading, bazi, palm reading and astrology readings. We will try so hard to link anything that were not supposed to be linked, just to console ourselves that yes indeed we can look into the future.  Duh!

Question is why do we still go ahead and have those readings? I think it is merely due to curiosity, especially those readings are difficult to prove its accuracy. It adds mysteries to the readings.

It is always fun to get to know what future will bring us. And each time we will swear to the light that we will not let those future events happen to us, especially when those are unfortunate events. But often enough we tend to forget about these insights into the future and just let them happen to us. Simply because we human seldom learn. People often say history is for us human to learn, but in reality, we do not. We look at our history, swear to God that we will not let it happen again, only to forget about those promises we had for ourselves and repeat the history again.

Human.... we are not that smart after all.

Anyway will try to remember to write down what the tarot master has to say to me here in the blog when i have the readings.

The Hangover

Just came back from a heart-to-heart talk with one of my buddies.

As we turned from the corner of LDP to NKVE, we saw 3 cars by the road and one of it was badly hit. There was an accident and thankfully that driver was safe because we saw him sitting by the side of the road and there were some people around him. One was trying to make a phone call.

Ironically, my buddy and I were speaking about something on drinking issue just not too long ago. So immediately we assumed that it must be a dunk-and-drive case.

I never like drinking. Well i cant drink too. The worst hang over i had was many years ago when i was forced to down a neat vodka. That night was a nightmare to me. All i remembered was walking out from the bar to the car park and blank.. there was a lot of vomiting...and the next day i had the worst headache ever! After that i dare not touch any alcohol ever. Even a few sip of beer would make me feel drowsy and my face will turn lobster red! I was that bad when it comes to drinking.

So how far would you stretch your limit when it comes to drinking? Would you restrain yourself and swear off alcohol if your better half is against it? Especially when your better half is against it because he/she is very worried of your safety? Who should be the compromiser in this case? And today i knew that alcohol is the devil that has killed a relationship of many years. Is it worth it?

La..la...la...Counting down

Yeah!

20 more days and i will be jetting off meeting up with my Mr. again!

Can't wait!

And the best thing is, Cofi is coming and staying with us too! Wonders if she will be able to communicate with those Arabic / French speaking doggies.. Hm.... is there an universal barking system in the four-legged world or are they like us with different "languages" altogether?

I bet this is one of the wonders of the world that i will never be able to get an answer to!

The Numbers Game

I looked at the numbers of friends i managed to find via facebook and also the number of friends of my other friends.

I began to wonder. What is the use of facebook really, besides giving us the perfect excuse to invade into others' privacy and being busybody?

I know we were supposed to use facebook to start connecting with people we have long lost contact with or long forgotten. So each time when we thought of someone, we will try so hard to look up for them and add these long lost friends into our list. Each time when we were given suggestions to add someone recommended by a mutual friends, we will not be hesitated to click on the "add XXX as your friend" button.

After that what follows? Do we really speak to them? Do we really connect with them? Do we even drop a line or two to say hello? Or we just gossip on them by looking at what their shoutouts were and what their latest pictures were?

We got connected but we never really connect again. Somehow it is just a numbers game for a lot of us.

Right Choice?

Just finished dinner cum catch up session with some ex colleagues from BAT.

The dinner went well and it was fun too.

For many year, each time i passed by the Roftman round-a-bout in SS2, i would have hoped and wished so much to be able to get a job there. It is like THE job for me for many years and the job was so difficult to even get an interview. I tried submitted my resumes the moment i graduated but no news, until a couple of years later when i finally got the chance.

The interview process was a painful one. From online test to face to face interview, telephone interviews and negotiating salary to finally signing on the offer letter. It was like a dream come true and i was really proud of myself. It was like achieving one of my goals.

The salary was good. The benefits were good and the people were great. Though at times we have to worked until wee hours into the night and start fighting with proposals, presentations, meetings, more meetings and tones of emails very early the next morning, it was fun. Well now that i think of it. Its fun because almost everyone in the team will have to stay together more than 18 hours a day to fight for the good result we wanted. We basically had every meal together sometimes for days. And also there were times when we do not even have time to grab a bite until way after the eating time. And there were times when the meetings were so long that everyone's brain was stuck. Of course there were times when we need to do fire fighting due to sudden change of company's goal or regulations set by the ministry of health.

And all these happened in the mere time frame of 5 months i was there. So much we have gone through.

I remembered complaining how difficult life was and how i did not want to work anymore. But secretly, each time i managed to settle an issue or seeing my campaign kicked off in the market, i was very pleased and proud of myself. For all my hard work and determinations.

Tonight i saw my ex colleagues came in tired faces and they told me funny stories of what had happened and are happening. It was fun.

I love my life now. I did not regret what i have chose. Just that i cant stop myself from thinking the "what if" i have stayed scenarios. Would i be promoted? Would i be bitching as well? Of cos i will.....

Well, it was a dream i made to come true and a goal achieved that i am still very proud of nonetheless. Way to go Cynthia!

Judgement

How often do we judge others? How often these judgements are correct? And how often your likeness towards someone subsided as a result of your judgements?

Like many, I judge others but am very afraid to be judged by others. Am still a simple mortal who is worried of how others see me. And because of this over sensitive part of me, I am one of those foolish mortals who can't breakfree and live as free as I should and could.

I told a close friends on mine a story that I wanted to forget. And i chose to tell her simply because I knew she will judge me the least. And she didn't judge me at all. Yet she listened to me with all ears and only advised and consoled me as and when needed. She didn't say much but yet she helped so much.

All i needed was a listener. And I finally found one.

She made me realized that the path of seeking for an answer is now over, because the answer is clear like crystal. Haha... Sigh... We always need a third eye to clear the vision for us...

The Source of Evil

The weather has been so hot lately that i am having short headaches almost everyday. It usually happens in the middle of the afternoon when the sun is up in the sky, shinning to its brightest state ever.

Adding to that is the gastric problem that came haunting me since yesterday. For some unknown reason, it decided to lingers till now. Even after popping the medicines which was supposed to be very effective, it didint help much this time.

And they say the best remedy to cure an illness is to look for the source of evil. Now let me think what i did yesterday to awake this monster.

Oh ya i decided to go ahead and followed my heart in the quest of finding out the truth of something. The action of seeking has been debating within myself for quite some time and finally i found the courage to do it yesterday. They said you are opt for sadness when your hopes are high. On the contrary, my hope was not high. I sort of knew the answer but i just need to prove it. And then there was no answer, which was a clear answer in this case. And the stone which was sitting itself heavily on my heart got lifted off.

And now i can be free of guilt to totally dismiss those memories in me. For i knew i did my best to sustain something. It takes two to tango and if one quits, the other party will have no choice but to follow suite.

Is this the source of the evil??

She Says, She Says..

I woke up today only to be bombarded by a lot of she says and she says.

As i was listening to both ends complaining and grumbling about each others, i thought i was going to have a blank out. After a while words do not mean anything anymore. There were only mere noises.

So i have to bear listening to 2 different versions. Of course i am not blind or deaf. Of course somehow i knew how much are facts and how much are fabrications, results from adding their own imaginations, tones and manners.

But what do i do? Do i retaliate and burst in anger? Do i just keep quiet and let their behaviors escalate to worst? What goods will my reactions bring me if i retaliate or just keep numb?

This is tricky. I feel like a politician at this moment. I feel like i am playing a strategy game. But at least politicians have consultants surrounding them all the time telling them what to do. And strategy games too have walkthrough posted in the internet where you can google and just follow exactly. Who and what do i have? There is no one who can help me now except myself. This is frustrating.

All i know is, i want to be an ostrich now and stick my bloody head into the sand and pretend that nothing happened. Well at least with my ears in the sand i could have the luxury of silence. So i have myself a plan now. I will be an ostrich for as long as i could until my fleeing plan is neared. Then i will be able to leave this potential political massacre and self destructive situation, that is until i come back again. Of course i have to pray hard that i could hold my calmness and patience until then too.

I didnt sign up for this shit, did i?

Old

My friend asked me this " So how do you feel after your big day?"

And without any hesitation, i answered "Old", and that is exactly how i feel.

Not physically old but mentally. Whether you like it or not, friends will automatically labeled and categoried you into a different group. A group that is supposed to be older and less fun. Suddenly i am now not the out going type of person anymore. Suddenly i am those who are seen to be preferred to stay home and do nothing.

Why is that so? And have i also done so to all my other friends too? And this gets me started thinking.

For now, i still feel old.

I Need A Goal

After the passing of the eventful February, life is back to its normal, slow pace again. And after all the laughters and noisiness brought back by my brother and KC, the house is back to its quietness the moment they were gone.

And i ask myself, now what?

There is pretty nothing much for me to do or look forward to. Gosh, this scares me! And i really need a goal in my life or i will be living an empty one.

I planned to take up open water diving course but then the plan is not on a halt waiting for the confirmation of my return date to Algeria.

Or maybe i should look for a job again? Well perhaps i should!

Anyway the new Final Fantasy game was out last week and i went to buy a copy. I didnt play it of course. It it for my brother to play it while i sit comfortably in the coach and watch. And this is the only exciting thing i have in my daily life now.

But i guess too much of it is bad for me because i was "playing" 3 games together yesterday, but only in my dreams. So i woke up feeling really tired today and overwhelmed by games...

The Death of A Relationship

She called me and cried over the phone.

He has finally gotten married and her heart aches like a million knives piercing through. There is nothing else she can do.

Yet she is still missing him. Yet she is still wondering why have they came to where they are today. What had went wrong? His marriage has just spelled death for their relationship, or once the relationship.

They hardly contact each others now and she has to get the news from a friend. How cruel he is to her, she said. But that is the reality of life, i told her. There is nothing else you can do now. He no longer is in love with you and he doesn't even treat you as a friend. You have to let it do. I continued.

It is hard. She said. I have no control over my heart and how i feel.

Time will heal you my dear. Just let time do its healing. Just be patience...

1.2.3 Let the war begins

Well i have heard of these evil stories times and again. Never thought that will happen to me but it just did.

I guess i will just take in whatever that will be coming to me but i do have my last straw and it almost hit it this evening.

Patience. Calm down. I told myself.

It is only the starting. The end is still a long way more to go.

But then again, i hope you will not cross that line that i have drew for you. If not, i promised you that it will be the worst war you ever had.

Ok let's remind myself again. Patience.. patience... patience....calm down...calm down...calm down...

"All the Things We Could Not Say To Each Other."

A beautiful speech from daddy to me and the best gift i ever received from him.

Thank you dad and i love you too, a lot.

Ladies and gentlemen

What i just said was that i have never ever given a speech in Mandarin or in Cantonese in my whole life. As my command of both these languages is rather shaky i will carry on with English instead and i am sure that nobody will mind.

Honored guest

Dearest Friends

Beloved family members and relatives from my side and from Kok Chung's side

Thank you all for being here to attend the wedding reception and dinner of Cynthia and Kok Chung tonight. This is an event that i have waited for a long time, and to be able to share it with all of you is very special and thrilling for me. I know that some of you have come a long way to be here, especially my friends and everyone else from Ipoh. There are also two special persons who have come a very long way to be here, from Algeria in fact. I know that they had to travel by air for over 20 hours to be here. So it is with deep gratitude that i welcome them to this dinner. Monsieur Hassaim, Yokuchi-san, bonsoir et bienvenue. Cynthia, Kok Chung and i are thrilled to have you with us tonight.

And all my other dearest friends, people who i have known for more than twenty years, people who i have grown to love and respect, people who have been with me in Toyota and out of Toyota, colleagues, suppliers, dealers and people who are just dearest friends - it is really good to have you here. You really honor me and Kok Chung with your presence. Than you again.

No so long ago a good friend and colleague of mine in Morocco introduced me to a book that he had read. It is written in French, the author is "Jacques Levy". I am quite sure that you have never heard of him, and until then neither had i. The title of the book in French is - well mesdames et messieurs, me non parley Francais - I don't speak French so i can't tell you what the tile of the book is in French. But i can tell you the title translated to English, which is "All the Things We Could Not Say To Each Other." It is a story of a daughter who, after the death of her father, goes on to discover all the things that the father could not say to her when he was alive, either because there wasn't an opportunity, of because of his own stubborn pride and stupidity.

Now i have obviously not read the book, but at that time, i was thinking about what to say for my daughter's wedding, and it struck me that there was a powerful lesson to learn from this book. The lesson is this" that one should not wait until it is too late to say the things that cannot be said to each other. That was when i vowed that i will not let such a sad situation happen between me and Cynthia. I should not let my daughter discover for herself all the things i could not say to her only after i am gone, and instead i should seize the earliest opportunity to tell her things from my heart. And tonight i think there is no better opportunity than this.

Cynthia, there are so many things i want to say to you, but the most important one is this: I love you as only a father could, for his first born and for his daughter, and from that very first moment when i held you in my arms as a newborn baby. How swiftly the years have passed, but to me the memories are as fresh as they had happened yesterday. Katherine, our daughter, that little girl with the big beautiful eyes that captivated all who knew her, look how she has grown. SHe is the beautiful bride now and she will be the mother of her own some day. I know that you are as proud of her as i am.

Cynthia, when you were born God gave me a duty to perform, which was to be the best possible father to you. What HE forgot to tell me was that to be the best father to a daughter is one of the most, if not the most difficult task to ask of any mortal man, as many fathers of daughters who are here tonight can tell you. And God knows and i know how many times i have fumbled and stubled in my duty, manybe more than all the other fathers of daughters here tonight. But you know what, tonight i am going to talk to God, Man to man if you will, Mano a mano, and i am going to say to him Hey God, maybe i didn't do such a bad job after all because Cynthia did turned out so right, did turned out so beautiful, didn't she?

Cynthia, i am proud of you and my heart is filled with joy for you.

Kok Chung, son, I am proud of you. I am proud to call you my son. I see that you have brought sense of contentment and happiness to Cynthia and i am grateful for that. She is yours now, to love and to respect, for the rest of your life. I know that you will not let me down, and i wish you both all the happiness in the world. Now having said that, i have a request to make to both of you and it is this: can you guys hurry up and make me a real datuk as soon as possible. I can't wait lah!

With that i ask the Lord to bless your marriage and your life together as husband and wife. Man to man, i thnk He will nto refuse me. Good night, I love you both!

Tears fell from my eyes like the fountain, but they were tears of joy. So little said yet so much were understood.

Truly Blessed

Just gone through one of the biggest milestone of my life and am so glad that everything went well. All thanks to my bunch of buddies.

Special thanks to Marcia, Jess, Hwee Ching, Peng, Michelle, Julie who came all the way from Korea,Bee Bee, Cheang, Aline, Janice and Grace even though she had fallen sick, she was still all worried about me.

Also am glad that I was surrounded by best wishes from my relatives and cousins.

And Cofi behaved very well on that day too.

Not to mentioned my parents for their warm wishes and loves, and also both my brothers for being there for me and helping me with everything they could.

Oh ya and special thanks to Cacing and Wei Hsiang too for being bullied by the scary boys. Heard Cacing ate a mouth full of bitters. Marcia, you too, thanks for all and sorry that you were bullied too.

Of course also to the scary boys who made the day very cheerful and "helping" KC on that day. I am sure he needed it. :)

Thanks all. I'm truly blessed.

Naked Chick

I opened up the door to the washroom just like how i used to be. To my surprised, someone was bathing inside and didnt have the door locked! And the worst part is i got myself a full view of the whole body! My oh my oh my!
La la la.... i love showering...

And the person didnt even feel shy or terrorized by my intrusion but continued with the shower in joy. Then suddenly she somehow realised my presence and cried, only to be excited by something on the floor and smiled again.
Oh no i am caught on camera! Whaaaa...

Hm... what is this thing with lots of holes? Looks interesting..

And she was still naked and i had an eye full of the whole view before i retreat myself. Ahhh naked chick. Not something you get to see daily.

Phew-feet!

No more pictures!

Steamy Dinner

Decided to invite some of my friends over for a gathering dinner and the best thing and easiest thing to feast will be steamboat!

So i went to the supermarket and bought food i thought it was too much for the 15 of us. Being the lazy me, the only item which i cooked myself was the soup. A pot full of "ikan bilis" and pepper. It turned out quite a good one from the feedback of my friends. As for all the other ingredients, well i could now take the credit because they are all ready packed from the supermarket. All i did was just paying! heheh

Everyone waiting...

So i spent an hour washing and preparing for the food and just when the clock struck 7, my friends came, and in batches. Everyone was hungry and started feasting not longer. Marcia, who was rather specific when it comes to food, demanded to have chili sauce and lime to go with the food, which i did not prepare. So i have to send my poor brother all the way to Giant supermarket to buy for me. Of course i complained to her being to fussy but i knew deep down that i was the stupid one. Who will be that stupid not to get chili sauce right? That is one of the essential in our Malaysian diet!

Food! And a very tired me! Never like cooking really.

Hope everyone is full!

Anyway after the dinner we decided to post for a group picture in front of the giant mirror i have in the house and also the one pair of chinese writing that is supposed to be written by the student of a famous calligrapher. It read (direct translation) "Kok Chung Paths The Fruitful Way" and "Pei San Opens The Lucky Door". I kinda like this because that means i will not need to do anything except opening the door and welcoming the fruitful path? hehehe

Well it was fun!

He paths the way...

And all i have to do is enjoy! Yeah!

Pretties!

My Brother's Korean babe!
Hi Julie! Welcome to Malaysia!

And of course every event must end with a group photo! So here we are!

Ahn-nyung-ha-se-yo

My little brother is back for Chinese New Year and this time around with his latest girlfriend, Julie.

They met while he was having a holiday in Melbourne. He was having a chilled out drink at one of the local pubs and she was sitting across of his tables. I am not too sure about the details but i knew they exchanged numbers, started to to exchange smses, then phone calls and then they are officially a couple.

That was 1 year ago. In that one year, he traveled frequently from Perth to Melbourne to meet up with her. This time around, she decided to come back with him to Malaysia and celebrate Chinese New Year together.

Did i mention she is a Korean? She has the typical Korean behaviour. Shy, calm, reserve and very very sweet. When she is around my brother, she is always relying on him to decide things for her. And how often would you see a girl clinging to the sleeves of the boyfriend when they walk among the crowd? That is really sweet. No wonder Koreans and Japaneses are both the top in the list for dream girlfriends amongst the guys!

Well will be posting some of the pictures soon.

Ahn-nyung-ha-se-yo, nice meeting you, Julie!
