Pranking From A Far Away Land

Today started off just like a normal day until I managed to pull a prank on my friends from my far far away land in Algeria.

Well it all started when Marcia decided to set up a singing session for Jess to meet someone special. So we were anticipating for someone whom we have not met for a long time to show up for the singing session. To our surprise, he was no other than Thomas. That was really a surprise!

Thomas was my photographer for my big day and ever since then we used to tease Marcia about him. Every single time, she would just gave us a nasty look and said that they have not kept contact after the day. So it was really a surprise to see him showing up there with her! No contact huh??

Then Jess decided to live fed me using her Whatsapp application. And her phone was passed around the 3 of them to talk to me. And my role changed. From initially wanted to tease Jess, to teasing Marcia and then eventually "helping" Thomas out by announcing to the girls how great a guy he is! And at a point in time, me and Jess decided to form a team in teasing Thomas and Marcia.

Things got funnier after the singing session when they were at dinner. Marcia was pulling her "i-am-doing-this-for-Jess" role while Thomas was pulling a "i-dunno-what-u-all-are-talking-about' role. Jess on the other hand was doing a "i-see-the-attraction-between-you-two' role. And i was just the person who was adding salt to the issue and escalating the whole thing. Eventually they grew tired of the whole thing and left together. Now that is one HUGE mistake! The other mistake was Marcia used Jess's phone to snap pictures during the meal. So Jess made good used of the pictures by making things out of nothing at all. She made a  Love Blog!

Below are some screen shots of what she did with the pictures. And the responses were tremendous!!!

Both me and Jess had such a good laugh! Thank goodness both Thomas and Marcia are cool with the whole prank thing. Luckily they were not mad. So sorry guys, it was a harmless prank really. Of course we also hope that we did not hinder the growth of anything interesting! hahaha *wink*

By the way i cant help but think that this is how karma is coming back to us. This time is Marcia's turn for spying on Jess earlier. Gulp...i guess my turn is soon??? Jess honey, how about giving me a second chance and forget about the whole thing? Please?

Japanese Surprises!

Had been suffering from migraine for the passed 2 days and did nothing but taking in panaldos, vomiting and sleeping. Sigh..when i had migraine in KL, i used to blame it on the hot weather and i could go to the massage parlor for a good shoulder massage to chase the migraine away. That usually works like wonder because the massage releases and relaxes my tensed muscles. Here, i cant have that luxury at all!

So i have been miserable for the passed 2 days like i said until KC came back with some surprises from Japan! His colleague from Japan came over and bought us a box of egg rolls that i assumed must be rather expensive, judging from the tin box and the packaging. Not sure about the taste though but as usual, Miss Coffee Chen was sitting quietly and obediently waiting for her turn on the egg rolls. So i googled on Yoku Moku biscuits and apparently it is a rather popular gift item in Japan.

When will KC drop a few pieces of the egg rolls??

But the best surprise i love is the cup noodles!!! Wee all the way from Japan! I should anticipate more because more Japanese colleagues are coming and KC has asked each of them to bring some for us. Yummy! Will be savoring the seafood flavor this noon!

But i was told to prepare for a Bak Kut Teh feast again this week. The amount of washing.... sigh!

Judging from A Work Desk

Last weekend, KC decided to give me a tour to his office before we head out to the market. I was psyched simply because i have not set my foot out of the house for a week! I think i am pathetic!

Anyways so we went. It took about 15 minutes on a traffic free day to reach the office. Unlike the Toyota offices in Malaysia, the office here has red color on the building and it looks more lively! Not the grayish building that from one look it will gives you the creep on your back from its "solemn" aura.

And then being the busybody me, we decided to go into his office and have a look at his work desk. His work place is situated on the second floor. Just before we reached his work place, i saw this beautiful map of Toyota Algerie that was made of steel. It looks very nice and outstanding from far but not the same thing when i went nearer to see. The whole map was made up of red and black dot stickers where the red dots are the places where ALJ has offices in. And i look around, noticed that all dots are intact except for Algeria!

When i told KC about that he answered with a "Yes we know and yes no one thinks it is important enough to stick back on Algeria because the dots fell off." So i assumed that no one is proud to be part of ALJ Algeria and each day they will just walk pass a map that does not show the country they are working in! Whao! Not a good sign on the employees morale isnt it?

Anyways, finally we were at KC's work table. You know the saying on how much we could tell about a person just by looking at his work desk. Behold! Here comes KC's work desk that could show how hardworking he is!

Tada! Empty!! Now everyone knows how hardworking he is! hahaha

Jazzy Night

Was waiting for midnight to come yesterday night because KC had to speak with his Japan counterparts due to the 8 hours time difference ahead in Japan. So we were watching tv until we could not take it anymore and then KC decided to switch on to his Itunes to enjoy some music.

I was lying lazily on the couch and was hiding below the blanket with Cofi sleeping in my arms. The night was cold and windy. The room was lighted with yellow lights and it felt tremendously romantic when a song for Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong titled "Moonlight In Vermont" was played.

I came across this song 2 years ago while surfing websites and fell instantly in love with the song. So i went to the music station near my house and requested them to help me get a copy from the State. It's beautiful how both Ella and Louis sang all the songs. Soft, lazy with the touch of jazz and instantly my ears are drawn to the soothing music and my mind could relax and be worry free....

So that was how i felt yesterday. Chilly weather, with calm and soothing yellow light, warm blanket around me, Cofi by my side, together with Ella and Louise beautiful voices lingering in the air... ahh... it was like heaven on earth..... What i should have done is to get myself a cup of warm chocolate or perhaps a glass of nice red wine.... what a great night...

The Princess And The Pea

Ahhhh!!!!!!!! I am so tired today.........

Everyone who knows me well knows that i love sleeping! That is why luncheon appointments set with my friends were always late and normally they were the ones who suggested it. They will all let me sleep more, how lovely. My longest sleeping time was approximately 14 hours and normally i woke up feeling even more tired and with a headache lingering for the rest of the day. So there is really a thing call overslept.

Well i feel very tired today. Not because i have done a lot of work yesterday. It was just simply because i have never slept well since i came here. Either i woke up really early each day, at 6am or 7am, or i woke up with a stiffed neck or body ache. Even though i sleep before midnight each day, due to the lack of really good and deep sleeps, my eye bags are huge and dark! Urggh!

Why? Because the mattresses here are so hard! I just do not know why. From Oran to Algeirs, all beds are hard! We had try to look for softer mattresses but could not find. Now the Algerians are quite rich here and i am sure they would want to have some nice mattresses. Where do they get that? The other thing is i could not find my perfect pillows here. They are either too soft or too high. As a result, i woke up with a stiff neck one day and i even twisted my muscle the other day and i could not moved the left part of my body smnoothly from the neck down. And at the end i had to down a pill of muscle relaxance to relax those stiffed muscles!

So perhaps once in a week i will wake up really really tired as if i have not slept for a long time..Sigh....

Well i am not the Princess in the fable "Princess & The Peas". I am not being difficult or complaints about little things like bed and pillows. It is just that i sleep side ways and i have a crocked back bone the last time i did my X-ray. So whenever i didnt sleep well, i would have to suffer the pains from my backache for the rest of the day. It feels horrible! It feels like my back bones have no support at all and they will go crumble down anytime! It is also like a vicious cycle. First the backaches, then the headache, then the crankiness start to kick in and then worst of all, migraines tag along on the wagon and stay for a long time! Sigh...really hate that!

Anyways, i wonder how much it will cost to ship over my mattress and pillows from KL? hahahah cheaper than going over the Paris to buy them??? Hm....... hahahah nah, just joking! Thank goodness i realized that the sofa in the living room is quite nice to sleep in. That is a nice alternative too!

To Love Less Is To Regrets Later..

Yet another cold day today with wind blowing so strong that it is shaking the glass windows in the house, and the wind together with the holes on the glass shutter whistling charming sounds throughout the house.

Yesterday a dear friend told me to better stay less attached to Cofi. I totally understood what she was trying to protect me from.

I have took her in as my pet 5 years ago while she was still a puppy. Then gradually i see her more than a pet, more like a daughter to me. I cloth her, carefully bone out the chicken for her, making sure that she is often well taken care of. Spending money for her grooming, snacks and even took the trouble to fly her with me to Algeria. Of course this could all only happened when KC himself is a dog lover too. He was the one who introduced me the idea of having Cofi sleeping together with us on the bed, and seeing her more than a puppy, taking in her as part of the family.

But how could you love someone or something less just because you knew that it will all end in vain? We all knew that a dog's life will max out in 15 years. Do we choose to love our pets less in this case? Detached ourself simply because we were afraid of being hurt?

This is just like asking a mother not to love her ill child whole heartedly because the child will die sooner and younger than the mother. If we could detached and love the kid less, when the kid is gone, then we will be in less despair.

But looking back on what we have done and what we could do for the kid when she is gone, would we regret on what we have not done instead? If we could be less selfish in protecting ourselves but choose to make the best of everyday for the kid, even when she is gone and i am sure we would be sadden for maybe a long time, but eventually when we looked back at how we have loved the kid with all our heart, we would have no regrets but always a smile hanging on our face whenever we thought of the kid. Because we knew we had given our best and not wasted the one and only chance we had with the kid.

Same goes for Cofi. I am glad that she came into my life. I am glad that i was given a chance to be with her and the chance of loving her, and i know that she loves me back too, unconditionally. I would missed her terribly when she is gone. I might even not dare to take in another pet. I am sure i could not replace her with another pet too. Well that will be in the future, one day when the day comes.

Sometimes even thinking of the day will also makes me tears. Sometimes while she was asleep soundly, i would look at her carefully just to make sure that she was still breathing, or purposely poked her just to make sure that she is still alive. But until that day comes, i will still choose to love her with all my heart. I just do not want to have regrets in my life later.

Where is Persephone?

Have been watching KC gaming his God Of War game lately and i decided to get to know more about all the Gods and Goddess of the Greek and i came across the story about the 4 seasons.

Persephone was the daughter of Zeus and Demeter. Now everyone knows that Zeus was a womanizer, and had fathered so many children. That is why we have all the movies such as Hercules and Clash of the Titans and etc. Ok back to Persephone. Now she was fathered by Zeus with Demeter even though Zeus was married to Hera. Just like Zeus, his brother Poiseidon was also a womanizer and poor Hedes, being the king of the underworld, had no opportunity to womanize anyone at all! And he was furious! How could life be that unfair to him? So he confronted Zeus about this. Being the sly Zeus, he promised Hades the fairest maiden ever - Persephone, if Hades could just stayed put in the underworld. Happy and satisfied, Hades went back to his kingdom and waited for his new bride - Persephone, all the time not knowing that she was still a little girl. So he waited and waited and waited for many many years.

When Persephone was 18, only day she was having fun in the beautiful flower meadows field when suddenly she was snatched by Hades and brought back to his kingdom. Now one of the main rules to get a living stayed in the underworld forever was to have that person have a bite of the underworld food. So Hades tricked Persephone to have a bite on the pomegranate seeds. So finally he got his beautiful wife and Persephone was crowned as the queen of the underworld.

This should ends the myth but being Greeks, there are always twists to the stories. Now in this case, Demeter was shocked and was in agony when she found out about Persephone because her husband, Zeus, apparently never told her about his pact with Hedes. Demeter decided to save Persephone from Hedes with the help of other Gods. She found Persephone finally but went in tears when she knew about her having tasted the underworld food and she knew she will never see Persephone again. Now, Demeter was a very beautiful Goddess and she was the God of Harvesting. She refused to return to the ground without her daughter and hence the world could not bear any fruits or harvest crops without her.

Zeus knew this time he was the culprit. So he went to Hades to make another deal. At the end Persephone was allowed to go back to the ground and stay with Demeter for 6 months, before returning back to the underworld. Hence, when Persephone was with Demeter, Demeter will be in such an excellent mood that flowers, fruits and crops will bloomed and harvest beautifully. Once Persephone was gone, Demeter will go back to her agony self and all the flowers stop blooming and harvest stopped. The world was covered will glooms and everything lost its colors. And hence, this is how the world began its very first 4 seasons of Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. All because of the great love of a mother for her child.

Apparently, this year, for some unknown reason, Hades must have kept Persephone deep in the underworld kingdom and Demeter must have been heart wrecked! That is why, spring still did not show up in the world, until now. Snows were still falling around the globe and the weather have been chilly still... Where is Persephone now?

Unfair!

It is so unfair!

If only i am in Shanghai now! I would be in heaven! The World Expo has started there and i am dying to go! Sigh too bad i am in Algeria now. There is not even a museum here! Sob Sob Sob. And one of my friend is actually in Shanghai now studying! That is just like adding salt to the wound! boo!!!!

I have been watching the news on all major news channels closely just to have a hang of the expo. I think China is doing a great job from organizing the venue for the whole world to attend, to having some really structural transportations via land, sea and air to having very organized and structural arrangement on the flow of the crowds. The first day of the expo had already captured the attendance of 30million people. That is amazing!

The whole world participated in this event by sharing each nation's distinctive culture and also historical items in the pavilions they built. Sigh....if only i could go i would have spend months there, taking my own sweet time to go through each pavilions.

Anyways, i could only watch the news, look at the photos and have a tour via the official website to satisfied my desire..

Anyways, do take lots of nice pictures and show us ya babe! Have a wonderful time enjoying yourself there.

Besides having a running nose, i do not feel anything and i am sure the bloods are not from my nose. And this only happens when i wake up in the morning.

Should i be alarmed?

Apps Has No Abs

Ahhh.......*stretching myself* Nothing could ever make a day better with a good cup of coffee!

Happy labour day everyone! And the reason why everyone is happy is because of the extra one day holiday we are gonna get! Woohoo! Anyways we are not sure if the Algerians practice this too and we will find out from some local colleagues today. If so then KC would have an extra day off tomorrow. The ironic thing was, i was the one who pointed out the 1st-of-May-is-here-day to KC and he just starred at me with his mouth opened. After some time, he managed to say "well honey, thanks for reminding me because i simply forgot!" Do i get a trophy for this?

Anyways i was bored yesterday night because 2 days straight in a row i have been watching KC gaming the God Of War 3. He finished the game yesterday morning but only to google on it and decided to play again by using the "cheat" mode. Apparently he was using the cheat guide from the internet to cheat the system so that he could gather things that otherwise he could not in the game. So i was there watching him playing the second time. Yawn! And i decided to downloads some free apps and play with them. Some are rather awesome!

First i downloaded the FlashForFree app  to compensate the missing flashlight of the Iphone. Check out the differences.

Very Robin Hood feel..

Original without flash..dull....                 Viola! With flash! Bright and nice!

And then i went ahead and downloaded the More Beaute apps. It is meant to help smoothed out the ugliness in us! Ooohhhh this is important! Let's try it out by smoothing my cuppa. Totally loving the end results!

                                           Original...                                              Oh my pretty cuppa!

But behold for the best app that i have downloaded! Remember how we need to pluck in the cable to our iphone, on the Itunes, and then have to sync them both before we could download the pictures into our pc? Well that is history now! I found this awesome app that could just sync both iphone and the pc without a cable!

Tada! The picOnScreen app is here to save the world! This app is seriously very cool! No cables needed to sync the pictures and it only took a few clicks for me to download all the pictures which i have shown above in this post. Let's see how it works.

First, download the free app.

Then, launch the app.

Then log on to piconscreen.com and key in the ID as shown on the app. The ID will change each time the app is launched. Once this is keyed in click connect on the apps in your iphone.

Choose a picture to upload to your pc screen.

Within seconds the pic you chosen will appears on your pc. Just save it!

This apps is just great! I find it so easy to blog now with photos. No cables and no need to wait and wait just to sync the iphone and the pc!

Wanna try out more apps today! Laters folks!
