How time flies.
Last year, i was celebrating my birthday in KL right before i packed my stuff getting ready to travel to Algeria.
This year i celebrated my birthday in Algeria.
Looking back the last 365 days, i reasoned i have not done anything really purposeful except playing games in fb and doing pretty much nothing. But i am glad that this means everything were as good as it could and nothing bad had happened.
This year's celebration was nearly to nil. There was no cake, no present, no flowers and not even a birthday song. There was no one but KC here to wish me happy birthday in person. However, i am still a very blessed girl having receiving numerous wishes from friends and family through FB. And because of their generosity, my 365 days ahead will be blessed and i am sure it will be a great journey too.
I guess i have way passed the age when i wished for a specific present. I will be truly happy if same day next year, i could have all my friends and family celebrating and wishing me happy birthday again and that everyone will be at their pink of health. That will be the best present anyone could wish for.
The other surprise was i received a note from a long lost friend. Thank you my dear. You never knew how much that means to me and thank you for getting my year starting at the right note again.
Blessed and love all too.

Celebrations!
Today is a happy day!
Not because i am 1 year older than yesterday, well this is never a reason to be happy to begin with. It's just because one of my buddies is getting married as i am typing this!
Congratulations to Aline and Wei Lun!
It's great to be witnessing how a couple started off from dating, getting to know each other more, falling more in love and eventually tying the knot. Especially when the girl is Aline, the social butterfly whom we thought it will take someone really special to catch her and tie her down. Kudos to Wei Lun for doing that.
Though i could not be in KL to witness their wonderful moment as husband and wife, my heart will definitely blessed them with the most wonderful and most blissful marriage ever.
What a wonderful day and what a lovely and pretty couple they are. Awe.......

Another Year Gone
6 more hours and i will be celebrating my birthday.
Another year has gone by, so fast.
Well I have a feeling that Mr Wong would have forgotten about my birthday and there will definitely be no surprises from him. No present and no flowers. Just hope that at the least he will remembers it.
Sigh...better not put my hopes high up. We are in Algeria afterall......
Anyways, happy birthday to me...

Dream's Over
Yesterday at approximately 5pm Algeria time, we witnessed how Algerians' dream of further pursuing into the World Cup 2010 was over.
When Algerian "luckily" managed to draw with England in the previous match, they were thrilled. Right after the game finished, we heard locals honking on the roads and even saw fireworks on the sky. The very next day, Toyota Algeria declared that the coming Wednesday it will be a half working day for the staff so that they could all go home and watch how Algeria fight their way through into the top 16 group.
Yesterday, after the match, it was death silence in Algiers. No honking and no fireworks.
Poor Algerians, what a pity that they managed to defense the game to a nil-nil game for the whole 90 minutes only to lost 1 goal in the last 4 minutes. Well not that they have played well because they have never managed to score a goal throughout the match, but i would say that their defending was way better than their attacking.
Oh well, dream's over for Algeria.
p/s: This year's World Cup resulted so many unexpected outcome! Italy is out but bravo for fighting so well even to the very last minute. I wonder if Ghana might win the cup now that there were so many unexpected outcome! haha

Boxxy Issues
About a month ago, KC told me there will be some counterparts coming to Algiers from KL. I was excited!
Straight away i planned in my mind what i need from KL and have been messaging my brother and asking him to pack. Whenever i thought of something, i messaged him to update. I was doing it so often that i actually find myself troublesome to deal with.
So thanks so much bro for helping me out. Thanks Michelle too because i am sure she was the one who got me the chillies i was craving so much.
So after waited for more than a month the boxes with my precious are here! When KC brought back the boxes, i am pretty sure my eyes were sparkling with anticipations and i was over the top. I was like the little kid who finally received her present after a long wait and begging.
So without further wasting my time, i began to unpack my goodies. Wee!!!
Finally, real spicy chillies all the way from KL.
Unfortunately the flight and the non-air tight containers took a toll on the chillies.
Some are rotten....
And some are molded.
And in desperation, i am currently airing them outside in the balcony and will be scooping these goodies for cooking as and when i need. Hm...maybe i should try planting them here. Afterall the weather is still kinda chilly even though it is already summer.
Besides these, i also got myself plenty of the stuff that could mummified me when i am gone! And guess what my dinner was on that night? Mi goreng or Shin Korean noodle? For sure is the spicy choice since i have been craving for it so long. Well it was an awesome dinner! Totally satisfying to my tongue and stomach.
I could just eat them and last myself 2 months before i ran out of them!
Tell you these are irreplaceable! So yummy!
And there were more surprises too. Someone was playing secret santa by sending us these. Apparently they were not from my brother or Michelle. So our guess the KL counterpart who helped us brought these. Well cant verify it yet because he has already gone back when we received the goodies.
Plenty of healthy herbs for soup. I love soups!
How could i forget the famous Ipoh white coffee sachets? Ahh... thanks secret santa!
Well thats all folks. Am gonna go eat my mi goreng now and enjoy my TVB movies... what a great way to live! haha

Of Course!
I got the tv turned on since i woke up this morning and had the pleasure to watch both the Algeria vs Slovenia game as well as the Serbia vs Ghana game.
Both games were ....well nothing much interesting and no much of action too.
Then it is the highlight of the night - Australia vs Germany.
It should be good because Germany is quite strong so i was really looking forward to it.
Now i have a policy with dinner. I told KC that we have to eat in the kitchen without the Tv because this is the only time that we should stay as a couple to have a decent meal and have updates of what happened that day. Today i made an exception to sit in front of the tv just to watch the game. It took so much trouble to have the soup, dishes and rich taken out to the living room.
We were having 30 minutes of fun until the server went down!
Of course! Things like server down or power failure will only happen on games which you actually cared about!
Sheesh!!!!!

It Is Time!
At approximately 1pm local time in Algeria, the 2010 World Cup kicked start in Johannesburg!
How i wish i could be there. I am in the Africa continent but in the north side! What a shame that i am so near yet so far to witness one of the most celebrated game ever for human kind.
Sometimes i think if countries could put aside their differences at times like this to enjoy a great game of football, why cant wars be avoided and problems be settled over a game of football? That will be excellent.
Watched the opening ceremony and i realised that there wasnt anything fancy like the one did by the Chinese in the Olympic. Africa gave us what used to be the joy of the human kind before we cleverly invented all kinds of gadgets and gizmos that ended up not saving our time, but instead taken all our time and left us yearning for more time in hand than ever. South Africa gave us songs and dances. These were what our ancestors used to enjoy and kept everyone connected, physically and emotionally.
And now, let the first game begin in Johannesburg - South Africa vs Mexico! And i am so happy that i do not need to wake up wee hours in the morning just to catch a game because i could not watch the game in the same time zone of the organizer! Wee!!

When the Ship Sailed Away..
Sometimes things do not work both ways, especially when it comes to friendship.
For some, friendship is everything to them. For some, it is something they like but can live without, and for some, friendship is just a word they learnt from the dictionary. I have stumbled and fell hard on this aspect which is hurting me a lot, even as i am writing this.
I have a friend who means a lot to me, especially after what we have been through all these years. But then suddenly, our friendship is merely nothing to my friend. As each time i reached out to my friend, i received nothing back but a plain cold shoulder, it is like pushing the knife deeper into my heart. As each time i courage up again and reach out to my friend again, i got more disappointed and it keeps me wondering what i really mean to my friend. Sometimes i feel that we would even be nicer to a stranger than what my friend is doing to me. At least we would say a superficial hi , bye or thank you when we were being spoken to. So much for friendship. So much.
If only i can stop caring so much, then i would have feel better.
If only.

Les Symptômes
You know you are hooked to Cafe World when...
- The first thing you ever care about early in the morning is to check if your food in CW are ready
- You eat bananas and yogurt for breakfast so that you could start playing asap
- And then you decide to skip lunch entire because that will take up too much of your playing time
- The only chair your butt is sitting on is the one in front of your pc
- Your butt sticks on this chair for the rest of the afternoon
- And you butt is still sticking on the chair by evening
- The only food you care about are those in your CW
- You go gaga searching FB just to see if you friends are giving out free CW food so that you could grab them before anyone could
- You got excited knowing that you could visit your friends' cafe to help them taste their new menu or spice their food
- You got more excited knowing that you will get more CW points when you help them do so
- You simply cook cook cook and serve serve serve just to get upgraded to the next level
- You got nervous seeing your buzzing rate not hitting the 105.0 max points
- And you spent hours trying to figure out the best chairs and tables layout in order to hit that rating
- The first thing you tell your friend in MSN is not "hi" but instead "Can you send me food please?"
- You chat with your friends for hours trying to exchange tips on how best to play the game
- You feel exceptionally happy when your chef hit level 3 in cooking a dish and gaining the title "Mastery Chef"
- When in reality you only know how to cook instant noodle
- You could not wait to post your new achievements on FB
- And you post more of these notifications on FB just to flood others' news page
- You time your cooking time carefully so to max out ever opportunity you could to get more CW points
- And you ignore the pain in your eyes even though you know you have been starring at the monitor too long
- And the last thing you do every night is to check that you have enough food to serve on the counters
- And that your cooking counters are cooking food for you to start the next day
Well.......i guess i have all the symptoms! I have been playing the game and this game only ever since i started and had my butt sticking on the chair from the moment i wake up! Sigh!! What have CW done to me??? Luckily i know i am not beyond help because
You know you are a CW addict beyond help when:
- You surf through the internet trying to get tips on how best to speed play the game
- And be number 1 amongst your friends
- You pay USD19.99 just to buy a cheat book from websites that claimed could help you excel in CF
- And you made yourself one of those stupidoe amongst the addicts who made those website owners rich and could laugh in their sleep!
