Oasis in the City

With a blister in each of my second toe for both legs after the shopping spree from the previous day, i had no choice but to take my last day in Tokyo really slowly.

The Jap's version of their "Babylon Hanging Garden" all over the top of building..

For a starter, i visited the beautiful garden situated in the heart of the hotel where i was staying, New Otani Hotel. The garden is a public garden which was built approximately 500 years ago. Although it is a public garden, New Otani didnt make it easy for access. Visitors will have to walk into the hotel, go through the lobby, pass some restaurant before entering to the stairways that will bring them to the garden.

I thought it will just be any other gardens. To my surprise i really enjoyed my visit at the garden. The garden brings a sense of serendipity in the chaotic city life and what amazed me most was how quiet my whole world felt when i was there. Despite being in the centre of the city surrounded by noises from the traffics and people, i never did hear any of these while i was in the garden.

Instead, i heard bird chirping, insects buzzing, wind blowing and the running of the water. It was like an oasis in the middle of the dessert; simply refreshing. So i spent the next 2 hours exploring the garden on a really slow pace, snapping photos on interesting spots, toying with the aperture of my camera while snapping, but most importantly, just sitting at the bench listening to the music brought by nature and having a blank state of mind.

Stalking this loving couple while i was there trying to snap some photo. How lovely.. and if only i could be half as happy as they are now when i am at their age..

Pictures i took while playing with the aperture of my camera.. Never really knew the fun of it until this very moment... oops! hahah

My model of the day.

Hey model, i need to see your neck!

Ok ok i give you neck!

Then it was time to move on for the day. Of course i discovered more interesting shooting opportunity along the way so no more words from now on, just photos to share. Gonna stop here because i am down with sore throat and flu now. So got to call it a night.

Next stop - meeting the Japan royal family (almost)!

Oohh i even see deers...

A waterfall in the middle of the city? Only the Japs can excel in camouflaging them perfectly...

Hide and seek behind the tree...

How much are you willing to pay for such a magnificent view while dining? I would say it worth ever single penny..
